Next Level Basketball - Program Overview:

The Next Level Fall Basketball program seeks to foster an environment to teach and instruct the principles and techniques of basketball in a safe environment. We encourage all prospective participants to enter at their comfort level and grow their individual skills at their own pace throughout the season. The Fall program operates with the inclusion of High School student-athletes as mentor coaches for each team - similar to our core Next Level Flag Football program. All teams will have student-athlete assigned as the Head Coach of their team. Each team will be assigned an adult volunteer to support the Head Coach (High School student-athlete) as an Assistant Coach within the program. Team Parents will act to assist with general communications within each team.

For our parents, we seek to keep your weekends free of tangled schedules - team practice times will occur on the same day as your participant's games, always one hour prior to game time. Practices scheduled outside of our Next Level structure (during any day other than game-day) are at the discretion of both the parents and the coaches. These practices are not supported by Next Level and we do not ask our High School student-athletes to attend. This program is instructional based yet will contain competitive game activity as a secondary focus

General Overview of League Operations

  1. NL Basketball is a 10-week season program which runs from late August through early November.
  2. The program weeks will feature 1 'scrimmage week', 7 regular-season games, and 2 playoff games for all teams.
  3. Games are typically on Sunday (specific locations vary based on court availability, check the schedule below).
  4. Practices and Games are on the SAME DAY - parents need only allocate a 2-hour window of availability for their child's involvement. Practice hours take place immediately prior to a participant's scheduled game time.
  5. Per Next Level Basketball rules, equal playing time is governed on both the offensive and defensive side of the ball and shall be administered by our Site Directors, the Student Head Coach/Mentors and Parent Volunteer(s).
  6. Each game is played 5 versus 5, with no backcourt pressure as the defense is picked up mid-court.
  7. Parent volunteers are to ASSIST our Student Head Coach/Mentors and ENABLE them to act as Head Coaches of their respective teams.
  8. Teams are comprised of a maximum of 10 players. No exceptions!
  9. League Fees: $295 - fees are inclusive of a participant's custom Next Level basketball jersey and shorts.
  10. Uniform Delivery - fees for home delivery of a participant's uniform are included in the League Fees. Next Level will again be shipping uniforms DIRECT TO HOME this season! Delivery will occur via UPS/USPS and a valid delivery location is required. Please ensure your shipping address is correct in your account profile to ensure proper delivery.

Additional Information - Next Level Fall Basketball Program:

  • No prior basketball experience is required to participant in the Next Level Basketball Program.
  • All basketball equipment will be provided.
  • It is suggested that all players wear a comfortable pair of basketball or tennis shoes during the program activity.
  • Uniforms are included in the league registration fees, inclusive of home delivery of your uniform (for all registrations prior to August 10th).
  • Our program is community-based - teams are formalized by schoolmates, buddy lists and friends when/where possible.
  • All teams will be assigned a Student Mentor Coach from a represented high school or college.

We strive to strike an ideal balance between healthy competition and player/character development. Next Level is always a 'one trophy' league as we believe that recognition for participation is not an effective means of helping develop young athletes. In fact, we believe that many of life's best lessons are learned through struggle, achievement, success and of course disappointment. We strive to foster competition yet to also find balance in the ever-changing world of youth sports.
